❗️OpenAI has quietly revised the wording of its mission, removing explicit references to safety and the absence of financial incentives.

Previously, the company described its mission as:

“Build AI that safely benefits humanity, unconstrained by the need to generate financial return”

Now it reads:

“Ensure AGI benefits all of humanity”

The language around safety and operating without financial constraints has disappeared.

What’s more interesting: the change wasn’t made recently. The updated wording dates back to 2024, it only came to light now because the relevant tax filings have just bec
