Google has acquired Common Sense Machines (CSM), a small Cambridge-based AI startup that can turn a single 2D image into a production-ready 3D model in seconds.
CSM reportedly has around 12 employees and was last valued at about $15M after a $10M funding round backed by Andreessen Horowitz and others.
The deal helps Google close a key gap: strong text-and-image generation is already there, but native 3D creation is becoming the next battleground for games, retail catalogs, and AR experiences.
