OpenAI has assembled a 200-person team to launch a new family of AI-powered devices, starting with a $200–$300 smart speaker expected no earlier than February 2027.
Designed in collaboration with Jony Ive’s LoveFrom, the speaker will feature a camera, environmental awareness, and Face ID-style purchasing - aiming to proactively “nudge” users toward better decisions.
